Kickstart a future in healthcare with volunteering!

Have you ever thought about a career in the NHS and being part of something that matters? Do you support or know individuals that are looking to make an impact? The NWL Talent and Recruitment Hub are excited to be supporting Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to recruit passionate and caring individuals to join their hospital as volunteers.

Volunteers are a vital part of the NHS—they offer extra support to patients, families, and staff, helping to create a more caring and responsive environment. Their time and commitment make a real difference in how services are delivered every day.

The hospital is currently recruiting to the below volunteer roles:

  • Ward Helper (for ages 25+)
  • Outpatients Department Volunteer (for ages 25+)
  • A&E Volunteer (for ages 18+)

Due to the nature of the role and the environment, there are age restrictions to the role as listed above. Volunteers will be required to commit to volunteering 4 hours a week on the same day each week, for a period of 6 months. Travel expenses are not covered and ideal individuals should be within a 45-60 minute journey of the hospital.

While these positions are unpaid and volunteers be responsible for your own travel costs, many volunteers use this experience as a stepping stone into NHS careers or healthcare training. It’s a great way to build confidence, strengthen future applications, and gain a real sense of what working in the NHS is like.
